Aboozar Tabatabai joins the Darwin team from Rutgers University where he was working on hydrodynamic and biogeochemical modeling in estuarine environments to quantify nutrient fluxes for his PhD project with Dr. John Wilkin.
At MIT, in collaboration with Joseph Vallino, a Senior Scientist at The Ecosystems Center, Marine Biological Laboratories (MBL), Tabatabai is working on developing thermodynamic-based approaches to trait-based ocean models in the ocean with the goal of better understanding and predicting how marine biogeochemistry responds to global change.
In his spare time he enjoys doing creative and fun science experiments with his daughter. He is also a digital photography enthusiast and amateur financial markets analyst.
