Our large computational simulations contain more detail than can be easily comprehended on a desktop system. We use the LCD display surface to aid comprehension – both to look at high-resolution information over large extents and also to look a large multi-variate datasets simultaneously.
The LCD wall is designed as a community facility. If you are interested in displaying information on it please contact Chris or Oliver.
Examples of LCD wall in action
- Displaying a movie of net primary productivity from a high resolution simulation.
- Concurrently displaying movies of abundance for different species.
- Displaying satellite imagery
- Displaying many physical circulation fields globally and regionally
